RE: Long tavel in popup, need advice.

Yes go for it. I have done this several times. You can have the camper set and in a lawn chair in the time it takes to check into a motel and carry all the stuff to a nasty communal room and bed. Plus you can camp 3 nights for the cost of a room. Motels stink

RE: Gas operation of 97 era Domestic fridge

Yes this is a domestic 3 way fridge. OK I see. I didn't know if there was some type of interlock like the furnace has. I will make sure the area is clean around the pilot light. Thanks

RE: Gas operation of 97 era Domestic fridge

I was holding it down for up to 5 minutes I would say. Will the fridge run on gas with the top down and with no power?

Gas operation of 97 era Domestic fridge

Hi All. I have a 97 Starcraft Stardust that we have owned since new. My fridge is the old manual type for gas. I don't have instructions for it but I believe that you just turn the knob to high and hold it down as you push the igniter button. Is this correct? Of course the gas must be turned on. Also will the fridge run on gas while the top is closed down. I do see one wire going into the pilot light area so I don't know if you have to have some power for a flame detector or not. What I get with the top closed is: The pilot will light as long as I hold the gas control knob down but as soon as I let off the flame will go out. This is the first time for me to use the gas option. We are boon docking this weekend. We normally go for the 120 as we do not have an onboard battery. Thanks, Steve

RE: Buying wholsale & PUP vs Hybrid

The dealer in Ohio doesn't have anything in stock. I talked to them a few days ago. The expect at least 8 to 12 weeks but are not sure.

RE: Tom Raper RV Sales

I found a camper that we we considering buying online and called them. Salesman's name was Larry. Larry said sure we have it and would be happy to show it to us. We made the 60 mile driver over and Larry was not there. The camper was not there and they were not even interested in showing us another model. I found them to be completely incompetent and would never consider them as my dealer.

RE: GVWR < 3,500 for Mazda Tribute

We tow with our 04 escape about 2000 and it does very well. I am sure 3000 would be no problem.
